New Carnage series review

Not many people talk about this short series so I might as well. This new Carnage series is about Cletus/Carnage going after one girl he missed when he was on a killing rampage which leads him to a book that makes his symbiote stronger. I didn't expect to read this cthulhu-Lovecraft mythos type story and was looking more for a story where Carnage goes around killing and causing mayhem while a good guy or someone more evil than him tries to take him out. We get this a bit in the first issue, but it goes away by the second. I still like this story even though the 2nd volume is a bit weak. Carnage is a fun character to read about especially in this story where you read how he thinks and you get to see his abusive family in his past which made him into the killer he is. Eddie Brock as Anti-Venom is cool and is religious for some reason and at the end of the series, it sort of hints at the Venom series that's going on now. There's also a couple female characters that aren't as interesting even though one black girl whose name I forgot is infected with Carnage's symbiote and later becomes an angel symbiote (no bullshit). Spoiler: I didn't say cthulhu for no reason as the main symbiote final boss is named Cthon (I think this is how it's spelled) and looks like Cthulhu. As you can see, they even have tentacles on the 3rd volume of Carnage and there's a review on the top of it that says Lovecraft fans will love this story.
All in all, get this series if you like stories with Carnage in it or have a Lovecraft inspired feel to it. There are a couple bumps in the series, but it's still fun to read none the less. I'd give it a 4/5 if you need a rating.
