A Dance with Sin - (Song/Poem Attempt #49)

This disease in me is a beautiful addiction
It pleases and fills me with happiness
As it tears apart my flesh from the inside
and corrupts my soul

It takes everything away from me
My innocence is no more
Who am I now?

A small slip and now I'm writhing in its filth
A quick kiss and I'm enraptured
A little tease and I lose all control

I try to resist it, I try to turn away
I feel like I'm dying without it
NO!
Run, I must run away from this
Cut, I must cut this out of me
Pay, I must pay for my sins

Getting it out is like scrapping your skin on glass
The disease is hard to cure, the sin is hard to resist
I never thought I would be like this
Can I ever be forgiven for giving in so many times?

Tearaway my addictions, burn my sins
Cut out my imperfections, I sacrifice my free will to another

One touch and the maggots infest my body
One taste and the decay begins
One mortal sin and grace is gone

I try to resist it, I try to turn away
I feel like I'm dying without it
NO!
Run, I must run away from this
Cut, I must cut this out of me
Pay, I must pay for my sins

I say from the bottom of my soul that I'm sorry
Can you forgive me over and over again?
You are all that I need, all that I want
The key to my freedom is always in reach, but I always hesitate
Take away my imperfections, Take away everything from me and replace them with You

I try to resist it, I try to turn away
This Dance with Sin has left me diseased and rotten
Burn away my imperfections, take away my sins, make me white as snow
Burn it all away until nothing is left but You
Burn it all!
