Can You Still Love Me?

There’s a kind of couple that most people know. The kind that only cares about themselves and no one else. This particular couple finally got to see what they truly are on one day out of their entire lives. After a long day of work, their bodies started to mutate to what their personalities truly were. Half of the man turned into an octopus-like creature with seven hearts, a long arm tentacle, tentacle feet, and a large beak on the side of his face. Half of the woman turned into a sort of executioner with a large ax as an arm and a cloaked body with some sort of ugly cancerous growth on the side of her face.
The couple doesn’t stay confused and terrified for long as a light from the sky, but not from the sun, spoke to them.
It said, “Detestable lovers who do not know humility, listen well. The man of this house uses his charms and wits to seduce other women to obtain what he desires. Because of this, he has more than one heart for more than one lover. The woman of this house takes advantage of the misfortune of others for profit. She calls it charity but is it is far from it. Because of this, she makes the lives of others worse to the point she drives them into deep poverty that they cannot get out of. They can neither afford to pay for much food nor the meager roof they live under. Nothing I have told you is new to you, but me speaking to you should open your eyes to it. You two do these things because you say it helps your relationship, however, as you can see, you are nothing but a couple of monsters. Repent or else you will stay like this forever.”
Both the man and the woman turned to each other. The person they once thought they could love looked like the worst person they could meet to the point where they almost recoiled in disgust. What was even worse in their sight was the sight of themselves in the mirror. Because of everything they saw and heard, they got on their knees and said in unison in an almost song-like manner.
Am I truly worth your mercy?
I have many faults
Many flaws
Is there any worth to my existence?

Please
Have mercy on me
If I deserve it,
Have mercy on me

Through my fault, my fault, my most grievous fault
I have lived a life full of sin
Made too many foolish actions to count
I've let others control my life and tell me what to think

I'm begging you
Have mercy on me
Will I ever deserve it?
Have mercy on me

Never getting better,
Never wising up
You offer your mercy to others, so I humbly ask for it too
I can't live this life I've ruined

If your mercy is death, then I'll welcome it with open arms
If your mercy is continuing life, then I'll pray that you'll help me or send a helper
My strength is worthless, my efforts work against me

On my knees, I beg you
Have mercy on me
Their will to change was honest, and because of that, they were temporarily changed back to normal, so they could confess and do penance. After which, they reaffirmed their love for one another in another song.
For love, there are many costs
Some pay half of it
Some over pay
But I will pay it in full

For love, there are many costs
There will be conflict,
disagreements,
heartbreaks,
jealously, and more like these.

For love, there are many costs
Some die for it
Some die without it
But I will live with it

Yes, love can be a very draining thing
But in return, love will give you;
Happiness, purpose, strength, and love itself.
The people who truly love you will dedicate themselves to you.

Love is what makes the world right.
Love can heal the broken,
Give life to the lifeless,
And change someone's life for the better.
So love like how true love loves every day.
A love that shows compassion and discipline when needed.
Their love for one another was rekindled. A simple look in the mirror, a simple look at themselves, changed them radically because they saw the monster within themselves. A monster few recognize exists and the worst monster you can face in your life.

The End
