Counter-Revolution
Industries and countries are built
off the backs of hard-working people, however, not all of it is honest work.
Certain people will use their positions of power to cut corners
and make their lower-tier workers work harder for less. This is the case for
the city that Alexander lives in. The city is separated into two sections. One
for politicians, celebrities, influencers, and company management and the other
for lower-class people with the previously mentioned titles and workers. A false
version of equality exists in this city with the poor being non-existent, no
one going hungry, and no shortage of well-paying jobs.
The disparity between the two
classes lays in their funds, quality of living, housing, break time, workload,
and general state of comfort. To get to the same level of comfort, the lower
class sends their children to schools where few escape indoctrination into the
elite’s way of thinking. The few that do escape still have to deal with
inequality and discrimination since the upper class lives in an echo chamber
where few new ideas exist. Change is slow to happen in a system that most are
comfortable in. Even more disheartening is the overall focus on wealth and
comfort.
God hardly occupies a space in the
minds of people as material possessions and worldly success has become the new
god. Jobs and families are made not to fulfill a role that God has prepared for
them. Rather, work is done, and families are created for financial wealth and
status. Because of this, people become even unhappier as their inner nature is
never satisfied. They indulge themselves in material possessions, vices, and
petty politics rather than worship God through prayer and action.
There are still people that try to do
what God wills, but these people are fragmented as well. Some become heretics
and try to make excuses for their sins and make their own religious leaders repeat their lies to them and make it sound like the truth. This becomes the most
popular religion in the city while the true religion is pushed to the side.
Publicly professing it can result in pay cuts and the loss of certain high
paying jobs or prejudice by fellow co-workers and even family and friends.
Alexander is among the few good people in the city who is tired of the present
situation and sets out to do something about it by using his God-given gifts.
With his makeshift guitar and
drums, he records the acoustics for a song he’s going to sing. He puts
together a mask designed after a skull tattoo, not to hide his identity, but to
show everyone how the world perceives him and that he embraces his faith. After
spending a few days putting everything together, Alexander goes out to the city
square where people are allowed to freely perform and debate. People start to gather
around him once he’s done setting up and starts singing.
“We are the broken, beaten, and
scarred
We are the workers they discard
We are the wonderful creations of
God
We are both beautiful and flawed
Rise up and join the fight
We take back our lives tonight
Burn the fires bright
Do not go gentle into that good
night
They have their hour
They have their power
But we have our savior
This is A Call for Freedom
We'll burn their idols to the
ground
Sin and evil are hellbound
Can you hear that sound?
Let our voices resound
This is A Call for Freedom
We are the redeemed doing God's
work
We bring both the light and the
dark
We are the servants of the king
We are everywhere and overwhelming
Rise up and join the fight
We take back our lives tonight
The cross has conquered death
Fight until your very last breath
They have their hour
They have their power
But we have our savior
This is A Call for Freedom
We'll burn their idols to the
ground
Sin and evil are hellbound
Can you hear that sound?
Let our voices resound
This is A Call for Freedom
Repent!
They have their hour
They have their power
But we have our savior
This is A Call for Freedom
We'll burn their idols to the
ground
Sin and evil are hellbound
Can you hear that sound?
Let our voices resound
This is A Call for Freedom”
The crowd cheers for Alexander’s
song and disperses once it’s finished. No one says anything about its
revolutionary message nor do the authorities do anything. Alexander knew that
not much would happen over something his small performance, but this is
the start of something big. His message is in the heads of a few people. Most
people won’t be spurred on by this. The few that do are ones that Alexander is
aiming for. He’ll continue to make music for them and try to both entertain
and inform people through them.
It might take a while for actual
changes to happen, but this is how the counter-revolution happens. It starts with
faithful servants of God serving their role and putting their trust in Him
alone. This is the natural order of reality as truth and justice always rise up
to purify and take back what is rightfully His.
The End
