Knights of the Sacred Blood of Christ
• Main military force of the Ecclesia Aeternam
• Can be joined by anyone male or female, poor or rich
• Can lead to being put in the other groups
• Act as guards sometimes or law enforcement if needed
St. Joan of Arc's Holy Virgins
• Only for females
• Not allowed to marry until they leave the group
• Not only for literal virgins
• Widows are allowed in the group
• Rescue/SWAT unit
Section 10:34
• Secret assassins and healers
• Deniable ops
• Eliminate targets within other empires and traitors within the Ecclesia
• Most don’t know of this group’s existence
Society of St. Bellarmine
• Only for the upper ruling class of the Ecclesia
• Make sure that the upper class stays in line and don’t abuse their power
• Taught from a young age to value truth and God over worldly possessions
• Devout about getting to Heaven
• Would rather put people through extreme amounts of pain than kill them to get them to repent of their sins
• Secretive
St. Michael the Archangel's Legion
• Only for men
• Given cybernetic add-ons to give them greater strength
• Not allowed to marry until they leave the group
• Juggernauts of the Ecclesia who wear heavy armor and wield even heavier weapons
• Only deployed in the most dangerous of battles
The Hands of St. Nicholas
• Special law enforcement found on planets held by the Ecclesia that are of important value
• Their arsenal is meant to capture criminals rather than kill
• Symbols on clothes are meant to remind criminals of God and His ever watchful gaze
Monks of Mortification
• Ex-criminals who serve their penance by going blind, having certain body parts replaced with cybernetics for better survival, and walking wherever they feel that God is leading them
• Sometimes whip themselves in penance for their sins and the sins of the universe
• Known to become great saints if they accomplish their life of penance
• This group is sometimes called Death Row because of its high death rate
St. George's Hunting Party
• Colonize worlds with hostile wild animals and deadly plants
• Sometimes called to evangelize planets with groups of people who have regressed in technology
• Known to be skilled hunters since they have killed and wiped out animals that look and act like dragons
Association of Saints Joachim and Anne
• The most powerful group in the Ecclesia despite their poor status that’s meant to act as a cover
• One of the few groups that know of Section 10:34 and secretly employ them for missions
• Family oriented group that submits only to the high rulers of their worlds and the pope as they can carry out whatever missions or tasks they want while hardly ever needing approval
• Have access to the most restricted areas and knowledge of the Ecclesia along with the most powerful gear if they need it
• Most unknown group of the Ecclesia
Righteous Executioners
• Executioners who not only execute criminals but also act as prison guards in the case of prison breaks
• Some of their members are ex-military
• Can participate in prisoner retrieval missions
Divine Head and Arms
• Protectors of the pope
• There are usually only two, but there can be more during times of war
• Veterans of war or law enforcement are the only ones who can become the pope’s protectors
• Given the advanced technology to be aware of any nearby threats and the tools to eliminate threats from far and close distances.
• Have a second pair of mechanical arms to not only help them in battle but to show their constant praying for the pope’s protection
Divinus Carnifex
• Deployed primarily during the time of Infinitus Anathema to eradicate planets held by non-Catholics
• Known as militaristic executioners who know no pity since they killed both civilian and military
• Given armor and weapons heavier than that of St. Michael’s Archangel’s since they are meant for long deployments to conquer worlds within weeks
Penitential Subjugators
• Special law enforcement for non-Catholic planets yet to be conquered
• They listen in to conversations of the places they watch over for signs of rebellion against the Ecclesia and are given permission to execute whoever they want, however, if they execute the wrong people or too many people, then they are punished
• Constantly pray for the people they watch over
• Wear deceptively simple armor so if they are shot by rebels then they can recover and execute their attackers
• Utilize tank-busting type snipers that can shoot through buildings and the ground so that other people caught in between their targets will keep their peers in line
Iternum Nata Inquisition
• Inspired by horror stories and false tales of the historical inquisition, the Ecclesia has created this group to bring those tales to life
• Infiltrate enemy empires to assassinate, kidnap, or convert their targets. Will also be deployed to plant false information in the databanks of enemy empires or start rumors so that the enemy will turn against each other
• Mostly made of converts and reverts to Catholicism because of their knowledge of the inner workings of other empires and loyalty because of their repentance
• Can change the appearance of their face and sound of their voice to better go behind enemy lines
Neighborhood Keepers
• Comprised of volunteers who watch their neighbors. They correct those around them so everyone is in agreement with Catholic teaching. If someone is rebellious or refuses to submit, then they are allowed to arrest or even execute depending on the circumstances
• Have surveillance technology to watch over and listen to the conversations in the sectors of the neighborhood they are responsible for, but besides this, they are given the same weapons and armor as normal law enforcement
Blight of Demons
• Soldier exorcists
• Deployed in dangerous areas known for demonic activity
• Given blessed revolvers that stun, kill, or turn into daggers for whatever dangers they face
St. Christopher’s Carriers
• Scouts that explore the unknown regions of space to find planets that could be useful to the Ecclesia and convert those who have escaped the Ecclesia especially after Infinitus Anathema
• Sometimes called cannon fodder because of the dangers of their job and their number of disappearances
Cleansers
• Burn and destroy anything that can be considered a threat to the Ecclesia. This can either be; databanks, groups of heretics, heathen, and traitors and their icons or symbols of their beliefs
• Known to have destroyed the records of history for other empires leading to the enemies of the Ecclesia forgetting their own history and causing conflicts within their groups
• Sometimes called extremists for their zeal and readiness for battle even though they are also zealous about peaceful conversion
Death Walkers
• Veterans of old who were critically injured in battle or by some life threatening disease and have managed to hold onto life by some seeming miracle and wish to continue fighting. These veterans are kept alive by the best in medical technology, their will, and the Will of God so they can fight in suits of armor similar in strength to that of a space ship and with weapons of similar or greater strength
• These veterans have survived hundreds of years and are only deployed for intense battles that even St. Michael the Archangel’s Legion and the Divinus Carnifex aren’t able to handle. Repairing their weapons, armor, and keeping them alive is also quite a resource drain
Excubitors
• Hunters of criminals, traitors, heathens, and heretics that bring back their targets alive to serve out their penance
• May use non-lethal methods of capture but will cut off the limbs of their targets to pacify them then quickly heal the injuries they caused so they don’t die
• Have similar authority to that of the Society of St. Bellarmine so they can arrest the highest members of the Ecclesia if they think there’s a traitor amongst the upper class
• Typically bring their targets to prisons where the prisoners are put into robotic bodies that force the prisoners to work out their penance
• Sometimes called the Harsh Hands of Mercy because of their ways of capturing people and their gear that can easily kill
