My Praying habits that have helped me along with a little bit about them.

These are several practices I do while praying. These have greatly helped me stay faithful to God and grow, so I hope they will help you as well.
  • Say I love you at the end.
    • Saying "I love you" to God and meaning it will remind God and yourself to put God first and everything else second.
  • Say common prayers like; Our Father, Hail Mary, Guardian Angel, Memorare, and an Act of Dedication of the Human Race to Christ the King.
    • These prayers are common because they work. Pray them constantly.
  • Pray for those you don't like, don't know, and forget to pray for.
    • Loving your neighbor is essential. Even if you don't want to pray for those you don't like, you should anyway to show God that you truly want to be a faithful servant.
  • Pray to Mary, your Guardian Angel, Saint Michael the Archangel, your favorite saint, etc, who are in Heaven.
    • Ignore the heresies that tell you that you can pray to God directly and get the same results because you won't. I know after trying. Who do you think God would listen to more? A person who has proved themselves to be faithful to Him or a person who is still weak to sin? These souls in Heaven will pray for you and will help you grow in holiness.
  • Pray the rosary.
    • The rosary is a powerful weapon against demons. If you haven't started or don't have time, then pray a decade a day. After practicing for a few weeks, you should have no trouble praying the full rosary once a day.
  • Pray in the morning and at night.
    • Constant pray helps a person grow closer to God because they are always talking to Him.
  • Thank God constantly.
    • Making the sign of the cross or saying a prayer in your mind when you know you should thank God is a good way to show your appreciation for everything He does for you.
  • Pray against temptations.
    • The more aligned with God you are, the more temptations you'll face. Make the sign of the cross, ignore the temptations, and pray against them. If you happen to commit a sin, don't be hard on yourself because everyone does. Be sure to go to mass every Sunday and to confession at least once every two weeks or when you've committed a mortal sin.
  • Pray for the salvation of all souls (includes family, friends).
    • The eternal pains of Hell are only meant for those God has deemed are beyond hope and love. The people who are alive today still have a chance at eternal life, so pray that all souls may be saved even if few really are.
  • Pray for the souls in Purgatory.
    • Yes, it's a real place. These souls, who love God above all, are suffering in the fires of Purgatory so that their souls will be cleansed before they enter Heaven, where nothing unclean enters. They stay there for however long God has determined, so pray to lessen their sufferings. They may even pray for you.
  • Pray for yourself.
    • Your soul is precious to God, so don't forget to pray for that as well. It isn't selfish to do this. Make sure to pray that God leads you to the right roads to walk and the right ways to think.
  • Pray for the poor and rich.
    • Both sides of the financial spectrum deal with the heaviest burdens. One side generally has too little while the other side generally has too much. Both deal with their own problems that could easily overcome them that being jealousy (poor) and greed (rich).
  • Pray for all souls to submit to the Catholic Church.
    • Outside of the Catholic Church, there is no salvation. Pray for those who are misguided by false versions of Christianity and other beliefs, so that they may be saved by the true Church that Christ instituted.
  • Add your own personal touch.
    • When you pray, you're talking to God. Act like it's a conversation except choose your words carefully since you're talking to God.
