Best Intentions, Worst Results Insight

One of the themes present in this story is faith. The church and people of the city this story takes place in accepts the supposed Blood of Christ without truly testing it just because it can cure any disease and treat any injury. This reason would give most the proof that the blood is the Blood of Christ, but when people start going crazy and turn into beasts, their faith is tested. Some people then doubt that this is divine blood while others stick to what they think they know. Alchemists and the church were experimenting and testing the blood, but they never expected something like this.
Faith, like trust, is never truly blind. We practice faith every day when we trust people and the laws that govern nature. This is based off what we know to be true and everything else is left to guessing. You can never know what other people are truly thinking of you and the laws of nature are interpreted by men and not plainly explained.
