The Documentation of the Human gods experiment is out for free!

What would you do if you had godlike powers?
This book documents several subjects who are given that power in a simulation where they can do whatever they want without any repercussions.
What will they do? Who will go the farthest with their powers? Who will keep to their moral code despite their powers and authority?
The Simulation of Human gods: Subject 4: Mastermind
Subject
4: Mastermind
My sister tells me everything. Everything
even the things she doesn’t tell the other people in our family, but she didn’t
tell me she would be entering the machine herself. I’m not too worried because
she knows the ins-and-outs of the simulation. I’m just wondering why she’s
doing this. Does she want to play around or be a subject? Well, we’ll have to
see.
She’s bringing up the actions of
the previous subjects. Why would she do that? I know she sees the recording and
my report after each experiment, so what is she up to? What is she doing now? Huh?
What’s going on now? Is that…me in the machine? Why does it look so big? Why
are so many people attached to it?
I scream out loud, “What the hell
is going on, sis?!”
Everything around me is changing.
What the? I’m back in my old room that I shared with my sister. I’m sitting at
my desk and…sis.
“What is going on, sis? Am I in the
simulation?”
“Yes, and you have been for a
while.”
“Huh? W-what I’m saying is automatically
being recorded on this document.”
“I wanted to save it. It’s a
special moment for me.”
“When did you put me in the simulation?
Why did you put me here?”
“I put you in a while ago. You’ve
been thinking you were still working until I got in here to keep you
preoccupied. You don’t remember because we tried to make that memory as hazy as
possible for you. I put you in the simulation so you can live the rest of your
life the way you want to. That is the goal of this simulation after all.”
“You never told me that.”
“You should’ve known. The world is still
a dangerous place despite all that our company has done for it. This simulation
is how every human will live the rest of their lives. Think about how great
that is.”
“This is crazy. How many other people
are here against their will?”
“I’ve lost count. Every person who
uses our VR products will be in this simulation and the ones that don’t are
offered an irresistible amount of money or incentives to be in it. The only people
that won’t be in it are the ones that we don’t have room for or are just terrible
people in general.”
“You can’t just force people into
this simulation even if they get to live in a dream!”
“Why not?”
“I don’t know. It’s just wrong to
force people to live this way!”
“Again, why? They won’t hurt anyone, and they’ll
live peacefully until their natural end.”
“People aren’t meant to live in a
simulation, sis.”
“I’m sure you’ll come to see my
side in time.”
“If I’m in the simulation, I can
find a way to escape. I know just as much about it, maybe even more than you do.”
“I don’t think so. I have complete
access to what you can and can’t do. I decide who has godlike powers and who merely
exists. In this simulation of human gods, I play the role of the god above all.”
“You’re insane. Stop it, sis! This
isn’t who you are!”
“Of course it is. I’ve been doing
everything in my power to make sure my family, especially you, is safe from the
world. Why wouldn’t I want to be in control of it to make sure that happens?
Now, I have to make sure you’re relaxed so we can enjoy the rest of our lives
together.”
“Stop! Get away from me! Ahh! I can’t
move! Where are you moving me?”
“Come here. Do you remember all the
nights we used to spend in each other’s arms in our bed and talk about the world and each
other’s feelings? I can’t wait to spend so many more nights like this.”
“Stop holding me!”
“Shhh. Do you feel it? These are the
feelings I have for you. I may not always say it or show it, but I love you. It’s
useless to resist.”
“No…stop…”
“You must know that we share a
special pod together. This is how we are in the machine. In each other’s arms.”
“Sis…”
“It’s okay. Rest for now. We have
forever to spend with each other.”
Simulation
goal: Achieved
Other
subjects will be brought in the simulation in due time to live out the rest of
their lives in happiness.
This
is the end that I want for everyone.

The Simulation of Human gods: Subject 3: Wished for Nothingness
Subject
3: Wished for Nothingness
What can I say about this subject?
Since I can group several subjects into this document, I’ll do so to save time,
both yours and mine. We recruited several people who were depressed and dissatisfied
with life. You’d think they would do the same things that Blair did, but a lot
of them just slept while a couple of them tried to kill themselves. The ones
that tried to kill themselves managed to trick their body into thinking it was
dead and this resulted in permanent brain damage. The subjects don’t remember
anything they went through, but we have to make a complicated explanation as to
how they ended up like this in our hands. Right now, we have a team making up
stories, so I’m just writing this down to pass the time and document what
little we got.
The people who just slept were asleep
for the entire time they were given. That’s it. Nothing else happened. I know
being tired every day, all day makes you want to sleep forever, but come on!
You’re being paid to do something fun with what are essentially godlike abilities,
so why didn’t they take advantage of that? My theory is that they just wanted
to die or rest forever. These people have a history of suicide attempts and
self-harm, so the theory that we have right now is that they just wanted an
easy way to end their life. Even with a simulation where they could do anything
they wanted, they wanted nothing, but the end of their existence and people
wonder why I hate it when people play god.
Since that’s all I really have to
talk about, here’s more about my sister and me or rather just her with me
sprinkled in. You all probably don’t know a lot about her because she keeps to
herself on this project and her future plans for it. This is probably because
she’s the CEO of the company. She doesn’t care much for anyone outside of her
family. It’s why I can make her so mad at me and never get fired while everyone
else has three or so strikes depending on who you are and what you did. I can expose
every part of her life that I know and nothing with happen to me.
For example; she used to use her
status as my older sister to get away with things, she used to drink a lot and
have me drag her back home, she used to have a collection of porn before I discovered
it, she used to send pictures to boys of herself barely clothed or naked, and when
we’ve had our sibling scuffles, I always won. In fact, whenever we fought, I always
won. She was always smarter and achieved more than I could and probably will
achieve more than me, but she can never beat me in a game or challenge. This is
something that bothers her the most.
I don’t know why this is. Mom and
dad always told me to be like her. She’s had more friends that I. She has more
fame and fortune than I could ever accrue. In the end, she’s probably going to
do more for the world than I ever could. All I do is document things and stick
by her side as I always have. It’s like we’re attached to each other by the soul.
Wherever she went, I did as well.
She may seem distant and cold, but
she cares for others and me. She just can’t express it outside of her actions.
You know all the different things our company does to help people. You know how
we’ve helped so many lives with what we’ve created. Sure, some of our methods
may be questionable, but we’ve never seriously hurt or killed anyone.
Here are a few things she did for
me. Back in grade school, I got into a fight with a few people and got beat.
She came out of nowhere and helped me by fighting the bullies with the help of
her friends.
I told her, “Thanks, sis.”
She responded with a simple, “Yeah.
Don’t mention it.”
There was another time when we were
hiking, and we had a bad fall. I could barely walk, so she carried me all the
way to safety even though she could barely carry me. The last thing I vividly
remember her doing for me was the time we spent together on the beach after my
first break up. This was during summer vacation, and after my partner broke up
with me, we just sat on the beach together in each other’s arms.
I’m sorry if I made my sister look
bad in any way in my notes. I wouldn’t dream of saying anything that’s meant to
hurt her. Whatever I say is just to poke fun at her and to point out the different
things she does for her benefit. I hope she sees that.
Anyway, uh…so those experiments we
conducted speak for themselves. Nothing else to report.

The Simulation of Human gods: Subject 2: The Subjects of the Subject
Subject
2: The Subjects of the Subject
Our next subject already has
subjects of his own running a simulation of his own within the simulation to
see what results may come from the situations. He’s constructed two
simulations. One is a horror situation where a person wakes up in a hospital
with mad doctors, another is a romance situation where their subject is given
the choice of multiple people to choose from, and the last is a series of
puzzles. While this is happening, our subject is dissecting a human AI.
The AI is so realistic that they
will react realistically to pain, pleasure, fear, and various kinds of physical
pain based off real videos of people suffering. I’d hate to be the programmers
who had to watch those videos on loop until the suffering matched what could be
considered realistic for what is happening to them. The internal organs of the
AI will also act realistically to whatever happens to them. If our subject wishes
for them to be affected by a disease, then their body will look and act
accordingly.
Today, we have a doctor by the name
of Thomas Carter experimenting with our simulation. He was an obvious choice
because of his curiosity and the number of medical advances he has achieved through
his experiments. The man has a history of trying to push the ethical boundaries
of experimentation so he can see if different experiments with yield new cures.
Unfortunately, all his proposals to push ethics are just drafts on his
computer. None of them are convincing enough even with the way he skillfully phrases
things. He wants to take things further, but the technology and his conscious conflict
with his aspirations.
When we came to him and told about
what he could do in our simulation, he quickly accepted it and asked if he
could do it multiple times. We told him that if the work he does now yields
results for both us and him, then he can have as many tries as he wants. So far,
he’s discovered various advances in medicine and different discoveries in the durability
of the human body. Carter is taking great care in documenting and using various
methods of causing pain on his patients. Blunt and sharp weapons, guns, fire,
and acids are just some of the tools he uses to research their effect on
various parts of the human body. It’s a good thing he mutes the
patients because I don’t think I would be able to handle all the screaming and
sleep. Serial killers don’t cause this much pain to their victims in these ways
in their simulations. He must really want to see how the human body reacts to
different factors.
The tests he runs on his “lab rats”
are less painful to watch, even the horror ones. If you’ve ever seen one of
those old movies where the characters have to mutilate themselves to survive,
then you’ve seen Carter’s tests. The romance one plays out differently
depending on the circumstances and characters. Sometimes it’s a romantic comedy,
horror romance, or a sweet romance. The horror romance is the most interesting
to me because this scenario ends up playing out the most because of the scary nature
of being in a relationship. Tensions arise in whether or not the couple is in
love, if one of them is a sociopath or psychopath, or whether or not if the
person who they’re in love with is really the person they fell in love with.
There’s also the fear of losing the person you love, which is one of my
greatest fears. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the puzzle tests. They’re
fine. It’s no different than what we were doing with the AI to test their
intelligence. He’s seeing if the AI is smarter than animals. According to our
tests, they should be smarter than most animals, but they shouldn’t be smarter
than us. We don’t want a robot/AI uprising to happen.
The research Carter is astounding. If
he keeps discovering new things at this rate, he won’t have that many more
sessions with us. The doctor seems to know it and is now taking his time much
to the dismay of his patients. He’s much like our previous patient. Decent in
real life while being a monster in a simulation. A removal of real-world
consequences really does turn man into beast.
Anyways, while he’s twiddling his
thumbs, I’ll write a bit about my sister and me since people liked hearing about
it. It’s funny that she got mad at me for snitching on her when I wrote about
her playing solitaire when she’s bored. She can’t get in trouble, so I don’t
know why she got mad. I guess it was just her being embarrassed. My sister
always tried to be the top of the class, the most athletic, and the most eye-catching person while I, on the other hand, just stayed humbled with my small group
of friends. Her will to do more is probably why she has a higher paying job
than I, but it doesn’t matter to me.
Our family lives in the same house,
and if we need something we can’t get ourselves, one of us will get it for
them. Speaking about the house, do you know the mansion that’s directly above
us? Yeah, that’s our house. I bet you never checked it out because of how intimidating
it looks, the guards around it, and the distance between this facility’s
entrance to the mansion. It’s actually a nice place with a view of the river. I
don’t know why we don’t invite any of you for a holiday or special event. It’s
not like we can’t afford it, or we don’t have enough space. If anything, it’s
because she’s so focused on this project. I swear she’s the reason I barely get
any sleep. Her reason for doing is probably because a-
Oh? It looks like Carter discovered
something. It looks like he distinguished the AI from the real people in the
simulation.
He says, “You didn’t tell me there
were other people in here.”
“It was in the fine print,” our respondent
answers.
“I don’t think it was. Is this one
of your secrets that you want to keep from me?”
“…”
“I’ve read rumors about your
company conducting some rather…strange activities so you can stay ahead in
business. You are rivaled by none in terms of medicine and technology. Your
reach is worldwide, and you are liked by many, but how can that happen with a
single company? Surely it isn’t all divine providence?”
“What are you trying to get at?”
“I must admit I’m jealous you can
do what you do while appearing to be angels on the surface. All I want is what I
asked for with the addition of helping the medicinal section of your company. I’m
not going to ask why real people besides me are in the simulation. I just ask
that you don’t give me any to work on except in the event that I’m curing them
outside of the simulation.”
“You’re hired.”
“Good.”
The good doctor gets back to work
after letting go of the real human. He’s keener than I thought he’d be. I guess
there’s something about the way a real person acts that distinguish them from
an AI. Maybe we should’ve expected it from an experienced doctor like Carter.
He’s going to be very useful to us in the future.
Question:
What will a doctor do when he has the chance to be unethical in his experiments?
Results:
Continue to be ethical. His experiences helped him distinguish between a fake
human and a real one. Even when he had the chance to experiment on a real
person, he threw it away.
Suggestion:
Let Dr. Carter do what he wants. Based on what he did to the AI, it’s best not
to give him a reason to go over his ethical boundaries.

Last Five Bullets: Prologue – One Shot to Save a Life
Prologue
– One Shot to Save a Life
Strange things happen, but I don’t
think my life will ever get stranger from here. I got an email from the Curaga
Company. They wanted my services as a bodyguard and I agreed, but when I met
them, they offered me a different kind of bodyguard job.
They told me they wanted me to, “Be
part of the security team that’s escorting part of our next big cure.”
The Curaga Company is known for curing
most forms of cancer and other life-ending diseases. They apparently have one
part of the cure to a disease they couldn’t disclose to me.
After some explaining, they said, “Do
this for us and we’ll be able to cure your daughter of her disease that is
thought to be incurable.”
“What? Really?”
“Yes.”
My life has been a series of terrible
events until it culminated with the disease that put my daughter in the hospital.
I’ve just been working guard jobs to keep myself and my daughter alive as long
as possible.
“Why would you want to hire a
nobody like me?”
“Because we are impressed by your
devotion to your job. Let’s go over a few that sparked our interest the most. When
you caught a criminal speeding, you knew that that criminal was part of a
protected class of people, but you still defended yourself from him, shot him,
and arrested him at the cost of your job as a police officer.”
“You find that particular action
impressive? What if I find something I don’t like and think I should bring you
to justice?”
“We are confident that we do no
wrong. We aren’t some comical corporation of villains who conduct human experiments
and make bioweapons. Now, the next thing was when you shot and killed various members
of the mafia that owned the club you were a guard of. The report gives us the
impression that you didn’t know who truly ran the club, so we’ll shrug off the
fact that you were working for them.”
“You will? I took a lot of flak
from not realizing it for the first week that I worked there.”
“You freed many women from
prostitution. We will. The last thing that you may not want to be reminded of
is-”
“I’m sorry, but if this is what I think
it is…”
“We’ll keep the details to a
minimum. You saved dozens upon dozens of people first before you went to save
your family. Unfortunately, the only member of your family you saved was your
daughter, so everyone else perished.”
“…”
“We’re sorry we had to remind you
of that but remember the integrity that you have. It’s what makes you an unappreciated
hero in the eyes of many and a dedicated worker. Do not think for a moment that
you did the wrong thing by saving those other people first. If you just saved
your family, so many more people would be dead and I’m sure your family and
others would have a negative view of you. What credit is it to you if you love
those who love you, am I right?”
“Yeah…I just don’t want to think about
it.”
“So, what do you think? Will you
accept our offer?”
“Everything you described before
makes this job seem dangerous if you’re keeping it a secret. What will you do
if I don’t come back?”
“If someone from your team comes
back with the cure, we will cure your daughter for you as a sign of respect. If
no one comes back with the cure, then we will release your daughter from the vegetative-like
state she is in so she will join you in the afterlife. How does that sound?”
“I guess she doesn’t have any other
options. I’ll take the job.”
“Very wise choice, Mr. Retto.”
I was then briefed on what we’re
going to do, how we are going to do it, and the plans if things go south. I am
given a hazmat suit with body armor and a special pistol that has “fire”
bullets as they call them. They are better than normal bullets because they can
penetrate harder surfaces and cure people who get infected with the cure we’re
after. Apparently, when only one half of the cure is used on an animal, it mutates
into a flesh-eating beast that can only be killed with fire or these kinds of
bullets. I’m also given a heated knife that will burn the infected, I’m not
sure if it’ll be too useful. Regular firearms don’t work on an infect animal as
the animal will seemingly grow whatever got blown off in a mutated way that
makes them more dangerous.
I’ve seen the videos of this, and
man were they horrifying. I hope things don’t turn out that way.
“Hey, Mr. Retto,” a man on the helicopter
says to me, “You’ve been staring into space for the past hour. You nearly look
dead. Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Good because we’re almost there so
get ready.”
“Right.”
I look at the picture of my
daughter one more time before we land.
“Don’t worry, sir. You’ll see her
again.”
“I hope so.”
We’ve landed in a large cavern underneath
a waterfall. This place must be extremely top secret for them to hide it like
this. The inside of the facility looks incredibly slick and futuristic. There
are a lot of experimental rooms that don’t look too bad, but there are rooms
with dead mutated animals like the ones I saw from the videos. Those things
better stay dead.
The people around us don’t look
happy. Some are whispering to each other while the others look frightened. In
the briefing, I heard that most of these people are just a hired third party
with Curaga members mixed in. I don’t think I’m allowed to talk to any of them
nor am I allowed to voice my concerns to my teammates. All I can do is just
walk a little faster to get this over with quicker.
We enter a cold storage room with a
few scientists in it.
The team leader steps forward and
says, “We’re here to collect the other half of the cure. Give us what you have,
and you will receive your agreed upon payment in full.”
There’s an uncomfortable silence in
the room.
“We decline your payment. It’s not
worth it.”
“Then hand over all the research that
you have the cure.”
“I don’t think so.”
The scientists pull out guns, but
we shoot them dead. I’m sorry it had to be this way. Why did they resist? I’m
sure they were paid well to do something worthwhile.
“Hurry and collect the cure.”
“There’s empty slots over here. Are
we expecting a certain amount?”
“No, just whatever they have will
be useful.”
We take all the vials of the cure,
put them in a box, and leave the room as if nothing happened. An alarm then
gets rung as wild animals start devouring people. Damn these people! I guess we
know where the other vials went. Why couldn’t they make it easy for us?! We use
our special ammo on these creatures to kill them, but we waste a few since they’re
so fast. Those who were killed reanimate themselves and become the living dead.
What the hell is going on? Why are people becoming zombies?
My team is dying around me and
turning. I knew something would go wrong and this job would end up turning on
me! It’s just the climax to all the bad things that have been happening to me.
“AAAAHHHH!”
These things hit with the force of a
sledgehammer. Oh no…
“AAAH!!”
Uhhh…Something hit me with this
claw arms and knocked me into a wall. Wait…I’m still alive? Where is everyone?
Where did all those zombies go? This place is a mess with blood everywhere, but
no bodies or torn flesh anywhere. They do regenerate flesh, so I guess it just
collects goes back where it came from. Those things are bound to be around here
somewhere, so maybe there are some notes around here that can help me. Ah, I
found them near the testing area.
Okay, so the flesh does form
together once it’s broken off while regenerating what was lost. That means a
huge monster formed of flesh and dangerous appendages could be made if enough
flesh is collected together. That better not have happened yet. Oh, there’s also
a note in here that says conscious prey is preferred over unconscious victims by
the virus. The other people must’ve gotten out somehow if the zombies just left
me.
Oh, damn, I almost forgot the other
half of the “cure”. Some of the vials are broken, some are missing, but I do
find one that’s still intact. This is my daughter’s ticket to being saved. Now
I have to find a way out of here. Thankfully this place is straightforward, but
I don’t like how quiet and dark it is. It feels like something will jump at me
any second. The random sparks and noises have me on edge.
After following the path forward, I
find a large set of stairs near a broken elevator. I guess I have to climb the
stairs. It appears that people were fighting and dying as they were trying to
escape. Wow, this is a lot of stairs. Where is it taking me…oh no. I’m in a
town. This is a town that we passed by on the way here. I didn’t think the
facility would have an exit to here. I’m in some kind of mechanic’s shop.
Looking out into the streets, I see
that it’s littered with zombies and other mutants who are wandering around
looking for their next meal. I have to get through them and find a way out of
here. I take out my daughter’s head bow and put it on my arm. One of the last
things she did for me while she was still mostly conscious was to give me her
favorite head bow as a way of her to always be with me. I only have five bullets left to use with my knife being a somewhat useless backup. Your dad is going to help you and I’m going to do risk everything I have to get this cure to you. I promise. I’m going to need you to help me, sweetie.

The Simulation of Human gods: Subject 1: A Child in a Playhouse
Subject
1: A Child in a Playhouse
This document is made to record the
results of the Human Gods Simulation experiments along with some personal notes.
This simulation that my company has made to test out how people will act in a simulation
where they can do whatever they want. The machine we are using for the simulation
gives them a true to life experience, so they feel as they are actually living
in the simulation. Due to the nature of our research, we hire our subjects for
large sums for the valuable research they give us and for them to keep quiet
about their experience. We record them (without them knowing), and then talk to
them about their experiences.
The subject today is a woman by the
name of Blair Craven. We picked her because she’s played lot of video games
especially violent ones where you can go around and shoot people. Normal video
games are known not to cause people to become violent. This is also true of
violent TV shows, movies, and books. What we want to know is that if a person
like this will still act violently if things are more realistic.
Blair has been in the simulation
for a few minutes now and has been testing the realistic nature of it.
“Hey, what’s the movie where a trio
of strangers try to kill a couple?”
“Do you know the psychological
horror series about a cursed town?”
“What about the anime inspired by a
western comic series with a cursed blade? Weapon of God or the devil?”
“What about the video game series? The
one that had the tagline, ‘One warrior versus a thousand’?”
The AI pulls information from the
internet and constructs it in a realistic way. They use a lot of uhs, ahs, ums,
and likes in their sentences. We didn’t bother programming people with more
verbose vocabularies because that’s just a pain and tiresome to listen to. The
way the AI talks isn’t the best and Blair can tell. There’s a certain stiffness
to the way to the AI acts that makes it inhuman.
It can’t read facial expressions,
change in voice, or read between the lines of a person’s speech. Even when it
tries to, it has about a thirty percent chance of reading a person correctly. I
guess this is true of everyone since we can’t read their thoughts and know for complete
certainty how they interpret things, but this is even more true with AI. As far
as I can, there’s no workaround to it that can encompass all subjects even if
we manage to get it to work with one, so this is just an interesting note on it.
Blair’s creating various rides and
riding different cars through various scenarios now. She constructed it all
when I was writing done notes. Creating rides and thrills that she’s doing is
what a lot of the subjects do. They make the thrills that they can’t experience
in real life. A lot of them recreate scenes from their favorite franchises even
the ones that are nearly impossible to survive. They still make these recreations
because they know they can change the scenarios, so they survive.
Speaking about scenarios, Blair is
recreating a scene from a popular zombie movie. There is a scene where the zombies
climb on top of each other to climb up a wall. Blair is trying to survive the
action-packed scene, but she keeps dying, so she switches tactics and turns
herself into a robot that can turn into a vehicle. Everything is going by so
fast now with the different franchises and things going on. I hope the recording
speaks for itself. She looks like she’s preoccupied, so I’ll note down some of what
I’ve previously seen.
A lot of people like reenacting scenes
from their favorite franchises and even make their own based on what they like.
This reminds me of how children will play with their different toys and make
their own story. My sister and I used to do the same things. You can ask her yourselves
if you want to know more. There are writers who do similar things when they
take a story they like or sometimes dislike and make it into their own vision
of what they want it to be. People like bouncing off each other’s imagination
and creating new things to share with others.
It looks like Blair is switching to
do something else. She made her surroundings into a normal city. I wonder what
she’s going to do now with her remaining time. Okay, so now she’s going on a
rampage. She’s using a knife and killing people in town like a slasher movie
villain. She’s changed some of the AI settings so she can kill stealthily and
with no consequences. It’s weird seeing the AI trip over bodies and dismiss
them as if they tripped over nothing.
This seems to have bored Blair
easily now. It appears that she doesn’t like it that other people haven’t taken
notice of what she’s doing. Because of this, she’s changed the rules and has gotten
noticed by an AI immediately.
“Screw this,” Blair says as she changes
the rules again.
With enough weapons to take on an
army, Blair is ramping through the streets of her made up city. She’s using
weapons such as; a gravity gun, a weapon that inflates a person’s head until it
explodes, a gun that covers a person in chum before a shark comes out of the
ground to eat the person, and…seriously? There wasn’t anything on her file
suggesting that she was sexually degenerate, but she’s using a dildo bat. These
are all weapons from a wacky video game if I remember correctly.
“It’s murder time, fun time!” Blair
says out loud as she faces a horde of cats in scientist outfits and furries.
Yup. There goes the reference to
one of the lines from the game. I remember the games that my sister and I used
to play. She used to love to play strategy and card games. I bet you anything
that she still plays spider solitaire on her computer when she’s bored. You
should check over her shoulder if you ever have a chance. I, on the other hand,
used to play a lot of quick reaction action-type games. It’s probably why I’m
so good at typing quickly.
Oh? What’s that?
“Please, please! Don’t kill me!” an
injured person says as they hold out their hand at Blair.
Blair is about to kill this person,
but the look on the injured person’s face and the whimpering they’re making
makes her back down. She backs down, heals the person, and puts everything back
to normal. She doesn’t know it, but that was another subject. The subjects aren’t
told, but the people who don’t keep quiet about our experiments are taken back
here and left in the simulation. In the simulation, they go through a surreal
experience where they think the experiment they went through was a dream and
that they are still in one long dream. If Blair had killed that person, they
would’ve instantly forgotten everything before and after the experiment. It would’ve
been easier on us, however, we can still make the ex-subject forget. A lot of
people can’t the difference between the AI and real people begging for help,
but she did. Impressive.
Because of her experience, Blair
has gone back to thrill rides and killing what she knows to be fake creatures.
She does this for the rest of her allotted time before she is let out-damn it!
I forgot that the subject for today was a man! The subjects usually choose
their avatar to look like themselves, but Blair Craven is one of the ones that
didn’t. I also didn’t think the small fact that he sometimes likes playing as
female characters in games was important. Oh well. I guess I have to change it
later.
Blair Craven is a normal man with a
family and two kids and has shown off a weird part of himself or maybe it’s normal.
He knew everything was fake and acted in an over-the-top manner. He was a kid
in a playhouse and did what a grown-up kid would probably do. The notes I took
and the results we got should be enough to make up for the mistakes I made. I
hope my sister doesn’t hold it over me.
Question:
Will a person who consumes violent media act violently in a fake environment
when they are given God-like power?
Results:
Yes, but they will not act violently towards real people.
Suggestion: Less sympathetic needed
for further study.
