Chapter 6 – True Conviction
The people who bring Urban to their settlement put him in a small shrine dedicated to God. While in the shrine, he dreams about the example God showed him that he must follow. This event was shown to him when God walked with Urban in the body of a child. It gave him the motivation to fulfill his duty and was an act of true love. Once Urban wakes up, he realizes he is fully recovered.
“Did I really pass out like this?” he asks himself aloud before exiting the shrine to find himself in a small settlement.
Everyone here is a person that Urban saved in his journey. There are only thirty people in this place that he knows. The other fifty are people that the others have saved because of his example. They come to meet him, and some come forward to thank him for saving them.
The wounded soldier he met from before comes up to him and says, “I’m sorry to give you a rude awakening, Urban, but we have two massive armies aided by demons headed our way. I have our best men ready to fight alongside you and other men who will protect the rest as they retreat.”
“I can handle them by myself. You should take everyone and move them somewhere safe.”
“Do you even know how many of our enemies are out there? Are you insane?”
“Yes, somewhat, but this is what God has told me to do in the shrine. He even trained me for this yesterday.”
“Are you sure you can handle this?”
“Did you see the battlefield you took me out of? I can handle this.”
“What if you don’t survive?”
“I gave every one of you the blessing, so that you may continue God’s work. Out of the thousands of people I’ve met, only you are worthy of salvation. Even if I don’t survive, goodness and truth will survive in this world with you to carry it. You are as strong as me and can surpass me if you try. Don’t worry about me.”
Urban comforts the people and gives them a blessing so that they will survive and continue to thrive as long as they are loyal to God. He then chooses a man like him to be his successor and lead the people while he is away. After, he instructs them to leave immediately and to let God lead them to wherever he sees fit. They thank and tell him that they’ll be praying for him while they travel.
Now, Urban is all alone in the settlement. He rests a little while longer in prayer and meditation while he waits for the arrival of the two satanic armies.
“I will be with you to carry you through this,” a familiar voice says to Urban from the light of the sky, “Thank you for doing the right thing for my sake.”
“It’s the only way to repay you for what you did for me. Will it be painful?”
“It wouldn’t be worth doing if it wasn’t.”
“Well, at least I won’t have to do much after I die.”
“Actually you’ll have to do more. Your successors will need help so you will be helping your ancestors pray and intercede for them. When your name is invoked, I will send you to help those who are worthy of it. You will also be on the frontlines of the Last Battle.”
“Is it too late to back out of this?”
“Here they come. Steel yourself.”
“Mind giving me an early leg up on them?”
“Of course.”
Urban stands at the edge of a cliff and declares, “The Lord God judges you all as guilty!”
This shout kills a hundred soldiers with their heads exploding. The soldiers behind them lose their hearing, and the soldiers behind these are momentarily stunned. Urban’s soul is set alight, so he can better fight against the army. Blood and bones fly all around the battlefield as if it was a meat grinder. Hundreds of soldiers die in minutes while demons and damned souls keep falling and rising from Hell. The forces of Hell try every trick in the book to kill him, but nothing works for the first few hours of the battle.
The battle goes on for countless hours until Urban is finally killed. By the end of the battle, only ten of the ten thousand soldiers that entered the battle survived. The battlefield is soaked with so much blood that you could squeeze fresh blood out of the ground for days. Urban’s body is decapitated, and his limbs, torso, legs, arms, and head are paraded through the capital of sin on earth. The people, who Urban had an impact on, take his body from this town and bury his remains in their own capital city.
Within a couple of days, the true worshippers of God lead by Urban’s successor take back the land that was once theirs. True goodness is restored to the land thanks to the example that Urban showed to this people. Things will continue to stay this way until mankind eventually falls again especially since the whore of Babylon has been established in the land. It is not known how many souls will survive but one thing is certain. True goodness will always survive, justice will be served, and God wins in the end.
The End
