If you haven't read it yet, then check out A Glimpse of Light: Psychological Survival. A series of short stories during the zombie apocalypse that not only infects people but makes them hallucinate. Various things like monsters and people from their past. This book was inspired by series like The Walking Dead, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. I wrote the original video game story in my senior year of high school and was one of the first stories I wrote. On a side note, I actually did incredibly well during that year of school, so I'll say that writing stories in school helped me.
