It is self-evident that a priest must absolve a soul of its sins. Only the priesthood can lead a mass, perform exorcisms, baptize and ordain new ministers. They are granted this blessing by God through the royal priesthood of the Church. Thus, priests are the only ones that can absolve someone of their sins. Then the newly cleaned soul can make an honest penance.
Penance is another act a person must do to show God that they are truly sorry for what they've done. Even though the price for every sin has been paid with the Blood of Christ, we need to prove to God that we are sorry for what we did. If we don't do penance, then we don't show how sorry we are even if we feel it. Because of this, confession and penance are both needed to clean ourselves of our sins.
It is self-evident that mortal sins destroy our relationship and grace with God. A mortal sin is a sin of grave matter done with the full consent and knowledge of the sinner. It is a complete rejection of God's law and love. Because of this, we cut ourselves off from God's grace, love, and salvation when we commit a mortal sin, which could lead to someone being damned to Hell if we don't sorrowfully repent of their sins because we have done evil against God.
It is self-evident that Hell is a choice. God is all good as previously established thus He intends for everyone to be happy and holy. But there are people who find their own happiness in sin and stray away from the perfect happiness that God offers. He gave us free will because love is an act of free will. If we reject what He offers, then we turn away from God and end up in Hell where God isn't. If we sin against eternity itself, we are damned for all eternity because of the pride in our decisions.
It is self-evident that people's beliefs can be the deciding factor in whether or not they go to Heaven or not. God, being all knowing and omnipotent, knows the motivations and thoughts that we all have. Knowing this, He can make an accurate judgment as to whether or not you are pure enough to enter Heaven or even Purgatory. Everything you know will be taken into account including; whether you are ignorant of the truth or simply haven't heard it or haven't heard it explained to you the right way to the best extent.
It is self-evident that Jesus Christ had to be crucified in order for our salvation to be obtained. Sacrificing yourself is the ultimate act of love. A normal human who's soul is stained with sin wouldn't make up for the sins of the entire human race, so someone who's soul is completely pure, in tune with God, and who is God would be able to cover for the souls of everyone. These two factors make Jesus Christ the perfect sacrifice so that all sins can be forgiven.
It is self-evident that reality is more fantastical than fiction. We can never know everything about the universe nor the afterlife. We don't even know everything about our human bodies. In fiction, everything that's needed to tell the story is given such as the being of the universe and what exactly mankind's purpose it. This is why reality is more mysterious than the most mysterious stories created by man.
It is self-evident that it is easier to do evil and harder to do good. It is easy to do steal while no one is watching. It is easy to kill someone we hate (especially if it's in self-defense). It is easy to hate in general. On the other hand, it is hard to give to charity. It is hard to sacrifice yourself for others. It is hard to admit when we are wrong. Another example we can use is from what we can see today. If being good was easy, then no one would be evil. This is one of the most enticing parts of evil. The fact that it is easy to do.
It is self-evident that not doing anything for others is evil. To not convince people of the truth is to be indifferent to them. To be indifferent to someone is to not care about their existence. This is why Christians around the world are commanded to spread the good word and to not keep it to ourselves (this being one of the main reasons for this blog post and my books).
It is self-evident that every action we do is based on our religious beliefs. Every person has dogmatic beliefs that place certain beings into where God is. Questions like who or what created and sustains the universe, who or what dictates morality, and who or what dictates value are all answered by a person's religious beliefs. Thus we can say that every decision we make is based on what our religious beliefs are.
We can also say from this that a person's religious beliefs are the core of a person's ideology.
