Punisher MAX (Garth Ennis) Series Review

Also known as the definitive Punisher series, Garth Ennis' Punisher MAX series is one of the best comic series I've ever read. It does the Punisher character justice while also adding to it. The series is dark and mostly serious, but still fun to read. It deals with several topics like slave prostitution, drug dealing, secret government operations, and a mixture of other similar things. Each arc of the series starts off by showing off the Punisher's enemy and the next couple of issues show how the Punisher deals with them. The few villains I like are Barracuda (who gets his own little series), the military generals, and the Slavers. This series has tons of violence and sex in it so has a bit of an edge to it especially since it's an early 2000s series an edge that I appreciate and like. One of my favorite moments in the series is when the Punisher sees that they have to rescue a small girl from a testing facility and he goes full dad mode. He becomes a caring father again and this is true to the Punisher character who is a sucker for victims especially children and families since his family was killed unjustly. This plot point is used later in the series, but not to much effect. The entire series happens when the Punisher isn't mentioned in the main Marvel Universe or at least that's what I think.
I'll give this series a 4/5 rating if you need a number to it. The only down point is the fact that you'll know the Punisher will win especially after the 2nd complete volume. It kind of gets repetitive after that, but still fun to read.
