Aliens Novels Review

The Aliens novels are the only books read when it comes to actual reading books. This is because I'm a huge fan of the Aliens series and the first few books I've read got me hooked on them. This review will separate the Aliens books as there are a few series in Aliens that don't exactly follow the same story or universe.

Aliens Omnibuses (Comic adaptations) Rating - 4(ish)/5
These novels are adaptations of the comics by Dark horse and the quality of it varies. It goes from the classic trilogy of volume 1 which I highly recommend then it sort of goes back and forth in quality from there on. It reminds me of movie series like Friday the 13th, Halloween, and other horror series when it comes to shifting quality, but they're alright if you want to read them. I don't have the comics these books are based off so I can't exactly say anything about them.

Rage War - 4/5
The Rage war trilogy by Tim Lebon has a mediocre start with the Predator novel then goes into a decent story with mind controlled xenomorphs and a race of Predators that try to wipe out humanity and other Predators. Fun series to read if you're interesting in AVP.

AVP Omnibus - 4/5
A trilogy of books that centers around one female character who adopts the Predator lifestyle after the first entry in the series. The last two are different sequels I think that follow after the first book. Decent and fun read like the Rage War except this one is the opposite where it has a better start and lesser entries.

Alien Trilogy (why is it always a trilogy?) - 4/5
These books are sort of sequels to each of the Alien movies with the first one happening after the first and the rest happening after Aliens. These books have a higher quality to them and are great entries to the Aliens franchise.

Aliens Bug Hunt - 4/5
This is a collection of short stories and an ad...for some reason by various authors. Some books fit into the lore of the movies while other fit into the canon of the books like the Rage War. It kind of varies in quality from author to author but it's an interesting read if you want to see how different people write Aliens stories.

Aliens (Movie to book adaptions)
I don't exactly know about these. It's cheap on Amazon so I'll see how it is when I get it later. I hear they're better than the movies on one side and not as good as the movies, but still good to read on another.

My opinion on these books is a bit bias since I love the Aliens series and really want more movies and video games based on the series, but these books are good to hold me over until then. I recommend these books to fellow Aliens fans and people who don't usually read books (of course you could read my books as well since they're written for the latter audience [shameless plug]).
